Register now for the Spring Rock Band Session!

Ready to Rock?

The rock band program is a unique experience for students to learn an instrument, hone their rhythm skills, collaborate with fellow musicians, and perform. Bands meet for 1-hour each week, working together to learn and perform songs of their choice with the help of an experienced music instructor.

The eight week program concludes with a final rock concert.

The program is open to students 7+ including new beginners. Adults are also welcome! Students can register as a band with their friends or family, or we can match you with a group of similar age and experience.

The cost is $20 per week per student and $40 for Tech Week (two practices + show). Full tuition for the Spring Session is $180, but we also accept payment as-you-go on a weekly basis.

To register, please let us know your preferred and no-go dates for weekly practice, as well as preferred band placement. We work with you to set a time for weekly band practice, and scheduling is first come first serve.

We're Hiring!

The Rock Stop has been open for less than a year, and we seek a part-time music teacher to join our growing team. Experience teaching music is not required, however, the successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of competence in at least one of our core instruments as well as enthusiasm for working with students in a positive setting.

This may be a unique and exciting opportunity for a working musician looking to make a positive impact in the community or an established teacher looking to gain new experience in a fun setting.

Please share this opportunity!

Mid-Michigan Innovation Center recognizes The Rock Stop

We presented our concept for The Rock Stop at the Mid-Michigan Innovation Center's Best Shot competition last week. And drum roll.....

....We won! We really appreciate the recognition for what we are hoping to do in Traverse City.

Meanwhile, the painting and contract work continues into the fall. Sign up at the right to be the first to know when our band sessions begin this winter.

2500 miles and the instruments are alive and well

It lives!

It lives!

We've been hard at work for the last week unpacking and setting up our instruments and equipment. We were a little worried after shipping them 2500 miles across the country, but we have some good news: They all still work great - even the breakable stuff like the harp and the fancy keyboards. The magic of bubble wrap, cardboard, and super tight packing.

While we still have a few weeks of work before we can officially open, we are beginning to teach and record friends and family.

Get in touch to schedule a lesson or session and get pre-opening rates. Or, stay tuned for an official open date.

The Rock Stop has a location!

After several months of searching and negotiating, the school has secured a building!

It's a beautiful site in downtown Traverse City right on Front Street and Franklin. We move in at the end of the month and will spend some time sound proofing, furnishing, and getting it all set up with our instruments. Look forward to a sign soon!
